The Eastern Health, Mental Health Program is a publicly funded mental health service operating within the Eastern Region of Melbourne providing mental health assessment and interventions for people experiencing severe mental illness. Working from a recovery oriented model, clinicians provide an array of hospital-based, community and specialist services for children, youth, adults and aged people across the Eastern Region.

Mental Health Wellbeing and Recovery

When people come to Eastern Health Mental Health Services they can expect to be treated as an individual. Their time with our services is seen as a series of moments forming part of that person’s journey as they learn to master their own recovery.

Lived Experience Workforce (LEW)

Lived Experience Workers draw on their own life-changing experience, service use and their journey of recovery and healing, to support others and make change. They may provide direct support to consumers and Carers through peer support or advocacy, or indirectly through leadership, system advocacy, education, and research.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social and Emotional Wellbeing

The Mental Health Social and Emotional Wellbeing Team provides a confidential, culturally appropriate mental health service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander consumers accessing any eastern health mental health programs.

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support to people with severe and ongoing disabilities.  People with long standing Mental ill-health may be eligible for NDIS supports, if they experience considerable ongoing disability.

Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry

We are a service provided by the mental health program to the acute medical, surgical and woman's health services of Eastern Health. Referrals to Consultant Liaison Psychiatry service are only accepted by the current inpatient treating team.

Eastern Mental Health Service Coordination Alliance

The Eastern Mental Health Service Coordination Alliance (EMHSCA) oversees the development of an integrated multi sector service coordination framework for people with mental health and co-occurring problems, and their carers across the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne (EMR).

Spectrum is a Victorian statewide service that supports and works with local mental health services to provide treatment for people with personality disorder.
